Devereux Life-size Limited Edition Bronze Sculpture: Pan from Greek Mythology

From Greek Mythology, Pan with Pan Pipes is the first life-size piece in my range of classic, figurative and Limited Edition bronze sculptures.

It is said in Greek Mythology that Pan, God of Woodland, chased a beautiful forest nymph called Syrnx, who turned into the reeds in which she hid and from which Pan made his Pan Pipes. The musical notes he produced from the pipes are said to have represented perfect sound.

In my interpretation, I have tried to capture a cheeky Pan with a countenance of obvious intent: a little older and evidently overindulged, yet still an attractive and charismatic ‘manimal’, playing the game of seduction with supreme confidence.
